Uses

Aripiprazole is used to treat schizophrenia (a mental illness that causes disturbed or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions) in adults and adolescents (aged 13 years to 17 years). It is also used in combination with other medications to treat episodes of manic, major depressive disorder (MDD) and bipolar disorder and also for acute treatment of agitation associated with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.

How it works

Aripiprazole belongs to a group of medications called atypical antipsychotics. It works by changing the activity of certain natural substances (dopamine) in the brain.
