Bromhexine mainly used to help relieve breathing problems caused due to inflammation of air passages (bronchitis) or inflammation of sinuses (sinusitis).

Bromhexine is capable of reducing the thickness of thick gel-like slippery substance (mucus) from the respiratory tract (mucolytic agent). It facilitates easy removal (by coughing out) of mucus from the respiratory tract by making it thin and less sticky.

Phenylpropanolamine

Appetite suppresser, cold, congestion, cough, urinary incontinence.

Phenylpropanolamine HCl acts directly on alpha- and, to a lesser degree, beta-adrenergic receptors in the mucosa of the respiratory tract. Stimulation of alpha-adrenergic receptors produces vasoconstriction, reduces tissue hyperemia, edema, and nasal congestion, and increases nasal airway patency. PPA indirectly stimulates beta-receptors, producing tachycardia and a positive inotropic effect.
